Galactic Glide

Galactic Glide is a dynamic HTML5 game developed by AVADA MEDIA team using modern web technologies: HTML, JavaScript, HTML5 Canvas and PixiJS. The game is designed to run in the browser and is fully adapted for mobile devices, providing convenient control and high performance on all platforms.

Project Objectives and Goals

The main development goal was to create a lightweight, fast and fun browser-based game with scalable functionality and expandable content. Galactic Glide demonstrates AVADA MEDIA’s capabilities in web development, UI/UX design and integration of interactive graphics on the frontend.

Galactic Glide is a space-themed arcade game in which the player controls a starship, dodges obstacles and collects coins. The main task is to last as long as possible without running into obstacles. The game is made in the genre of endless runner, which implies continuous movement forward and increasing complexity as you pass.

Ship control is realized in several variants: pressing (tap) on the screen, mouse control and joystick mode, which makes the gameplay available and convenient on different devices.

Key Features:

• Three difficulty modes: Easy, Middle and Hard – levels differ in the intensity of obstacles and speed of movement, which allows you to adapt the game to the user’s skill level.
• Leaderboard: An online ranking system is implemented that displays other players’ statistics. This promotes user engagement and creates a competitive spirit.
• Space Animation: Dynamic starry sky animation is used in the background of the game to create the effect of flight and depth of space.
• Customization Shop: The player can purchase new spaceship models and change the visual design of the background. All items are purchased with in-game currency – coins, which are collected during the flight process.
• Failure Restart: In the event of hitting an obstacle or falling off the map, gameplay restarts instantly, providing a fast-paced and engaging experience.

Galactic Glide is built on PixiJS, a powerful rendering engine optimized for 2D graphics in the browser. The use of HTML5 Canvas provides high performance, smooth animation and support for all modern browsers. The game code is written in pure JavaScript, which ensures easy support and scalability of the project.

Adaptive design allows you to run the game on both desktop devices and mobile browsers without loss of gameplay or graphics quality. Special attention was paid to optimization for touch screens and smoothness of controls.

The result is a fully working, cross-platform product with an intuitive interface, balanced mechanics and a high level of visual performance.
